Section 4 -Cookies

Our website uses cookies. A cookie is a text file that is sent when a user visits our website and is temporarily stored on the user's hard disk. If the relevant server of our website is accessed again by the user of the website, the user's browser sends the previously received cookie back to the server. The server can then make use of the information obtained by this procedure in a variety of ways. Cookies can be used, for example, to control the advertising displayed or to simplify navigation within a website.

This website uses the following types of cookies, the scope and function of which are explained below:

– transient cookies
– persistent cookies

  • Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. These include, in particular, session cookies. These store what is known as a session ID, which enables various requests from your browser to be assigned to the same session. This allows your computer to be recognised if you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the browser. Persistent cookies are deleted automatically after a specified time, which may vary from one cookie to another. You can delete the cookies in your browser at any time by means of the security settings.

If the user of the website wishes to disable cookies, he/she may do so locally by changing the settings of the web browser used on his/her computer, i.e. the program used for opening and displaying websites (e.g. Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera or Safari).

The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is normally sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

If IP anonymisation has been enabled on this website, however, your IP address will first be truncated by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other countries that are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional situations will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports about website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website activity and Internet usage. The IP address transmitted by Google Analytics from your browser will not be combined with any other data held by Google.

You can prevent the storage of cookies on your computer by adjusting your browser settings accordingly; we would point out, however, that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of the website in full.
